George Savage Brooks was raised in central Kentucky, where he lives with his wife, Kathy. They have two grown children and five grandchildren-all girls.

George majored in English at Vanderbilt University and wanted to write fiction but pursued other professions. He was a corporate lawyer for 20 years and a financial advisor for the next 24.

He belongs to a Christian church and participates in the Alpha Program and Bible Study Fellowship. This church and these non-denominal organizations have shaped his worldview.
